Another Independence Day

The day after our nation's Independence Day, we celebrated one of our own, as Alex rode his bike for the first time without training wheels. We still had to help him get started most of the time and ran after him just in case, but he was all smiles as he rode around the park. Between this and starting drum lessons 2 weeks ago, he's having a pretty big summer. Next step, swimming without a vest.

Copenhagen Cycle Chic

Just came across the blog Copenhagen Cycle Chic which I think you can guess what it is about. Even though gas prices are finally returning to somewhat affordable prices, I sometimes wish I worked within cycling distance. I often wonder how my relatives in Holland and everyone else who lives in countries where it snows, get around on bikes. Apparently with a smile:

Also found a link to The Dutch Bicycle Company, which sells European bikes in the US. Armilyn loves this bike, the Conference Bike or Cobi:

It can seat up to seven, but thankfully only one person gets to steer.
