We are back!

Okay, after a summer hiatus and complaints from relatives, we are back to blogging on a regular basis.

During the summer, the Shipley Nature Center would have special evening hours every Thursday. We had never been, and we were amazed at how large and beautiful it is, with long trails and diverse flora. Alex and his cousin Leila loved visiting throughout the summer. Here are some pics from one of the visits in July:

Finally in July, Opa and Oma went on a long trip to Holland. They brought back Alex a pirate costume:

Parks & Recreation

Here are just a compilation of pictures taken at FV Library Park, Mile Square, Central Park HB and most recently the Shipley Nature Center. I take the kids weekly so that they get a bit of nature, plus Alexander & Leila are great subjects for photography.

A morning walk at HB Central Park

Before we ate a big meal for Thanksgiving, we decided that we would go for a walk at Huntington Beach Central Park.

Park Bench Cafe is one of our favorite places to eat outdoors when the weather is nice.

The Speed of Alex

Alex is the type of kid who is pretty much on-the-go all the time. Constant drumming or singing always come from his direction. So on Thanksgiving we took a walk in HB's Central Park. It had rained the night before, but the playground slides had dried off, mostly. He got a little wet in the butt and that slowed him down considerably. But that didn't stop him from going down the slide a second time. He is very serious about his sliding, as you can see from this video. This is at FULL speed, I didn't do anything to this video:
