During the summer, the Shipley Nature Center would have special evening hours every Thursday. We had never been, and we were amazed at how large and beautiful it is, with long trails and diverse flora. Alex and his cousin Leila loved visiting throughout the summer. Finally in July, Opa and Oma went on a long trip to Holland. They brought back Alex a pirate costume:
